An Omaha man has been hospitalized in critical condition with burns he suffered when his home caught fire.

The blaze at Carl Guidici's home in south Omaha broke out Friday morning.

Guidici was able to get out of the home on his own, but he suffered burns to his face and hair.

A spokeswoman for St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center in Lincoln said Friday night that Guidici was in critical condition.

Oxygen tanks that were inside Guidici's home exploded after fire crews arrived. Four firefighters were inside at the time, but no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage is estimated at $80,000.
