Administrators declared a "Code Red" after an individual ran from a school resource officer.

Lincoln East Principal Sue Cassata said students were locked in classrooms from about 2:30 p.m. - 2:50 p.m. Police said the resource officer approached a person who identified himself as a student's father. That person is someone police were looking for in regards to a recent theft, but the officer discovered it was a fake name when that person and his son showed up at the school.

The individual who gave the fake name struggled with the officer and ran from him and other staff.

Cassata said at that point, they declared a "Code Red", requiring students to remain in classrooms. A sweep of the building determined the individual was no longer in the school. Cassata said students were dismissed as usual, but police officers were on school grounds.

Lincoln Police say the person in question has not been apprehended and they don't know why he was at the school. He is described as a black male in his 20s or 30s, about 5'11", 185 pounds wearing all black.
