Nebraska senator Ben Nelson says the bailout of auto makers can have an affect in the Cornhusker state.

That’s why the senator is watching the proposals closely.

Nelson points out at least three manufacturers in Nebraska who make parts for cars and trucks.
Senator Nelson says, “The dots do connect from Motown to our town.”

However the senator says he’ll only be for a plan that has strict oversight.

Senator Nelson says, “We have to make sure the auto execs don’t compensate themselves. That there are no golden parachutes.”

Nelson says he wants transparency, controls and restrictions the same as any bank lending money.
