LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Nebraska coach Bill Callahan says the team's kickoff coverage needs some fine-tuning.

The Cornhuskers had just one touchback on seven kickoffs against Kansas, and Kansas averaged more than 39 yards per return.

Freshman Adi Kunalic has 23 touchbacks on 48 kickoffs this season. Callahan says he was trying to kick hard last weekend because he knew the returner was excellent. And the coach says sometimes, when you try to kick it too hard, you miss the mark.

The Nebraska defense is hoping for the return of linebacker Bo Ruud, who's been out with an injury since October. Callahan says Ruud had a good practice Thursday and might play Saturday against Kansas State.
