The latest 10/11 Prep Athlete of the Week is Matt Spain, and Spain wrestled last weekend in the State Wrestling Tournament in Omaha.

Spain faced Hadley Cooksley, Cooksley being from Grand Island Northwest and also coming in with a perfect 33-0 record, all decided by pins.

Cooksley was the favorite, but Spain provided a major upset winning the championship match 10 to 6.

Congratulations to Matt Spain for being named the 10/11 Prep Athlete of the Week.

every one thought that matt spain was gonna loose this match by a long shot, but everybody here in valentine knew that matt wanted the win more than cooksly, im a close friend of matts, and all i have to say is way to go spain
