Nebraska offensive coordinator Shawn Watson said Marlon Lucky is the clear-cut starting I-back, even though the depth chart shows him sharing the spot with Roy Helu Junior.
Watson said Helu is being rewarded for an outstanding spring and summer.
Lucky said he's motivated, not insulted.
Watson said the Cornhuskers will need as many I-backs available as possible, because he plans to run the ball a lot.
Lucky started all 12 games last season and is the Big 12's only returning thousand-yard rusher. In addition to Helu, Quentin Castille and Marcus Mendoza figure to see considerable playing time this fall.
