After having the day off on Monday, the Nebraska football team returned to the field with a short practice on Tuesday afternoon in the Hawks Championship Center. The Huskers worked out for a little over an hour as they head into a bye week.

“It was all good-on-good, mostly team stuff because we’ve got a number of coaches out on the road (recruiting),” Head Coach Bo Pelini said. “It was a good, sharp, crisp practice. We got some good work done."

Pelini said that the bye week is a good time to rest up the players after playing eight straight weeks of games.

“We feel pretty good about where we are health-wise,” Pelini said. “Murth (Lydon Murtha) came back to practice today and Jaivorio (Burkes) went today. I think that this is a time to get our guys back a little bit, get their legs, and make sure we’re ready to roll come next week.”

One of the players Pelini hopes benefits from having an extra week of rest is linebacker Phillip Dillard, who has missed the last three games due to injury.

“I really anticipate having Phil back (for the Colorado game), but you never know,” Pelini said. “He’s getting better every day. I would anticipate he’s going to be back. We’re probably not going to be doing anything with him until Sunday, but I think he’ll be practicing Sunday. That’s what we hope.”

Nebraska has this weekend off and will face Colorado in its traditional day after Thanksgiving game aired nationally on ABC. Kickoff for the Nov. 28 game will be at 2:30 at Memorial Stadium.
