The Nebraska football team completed a two-hour workout inside the Hawks Championship Center Thursday. The practice marked the final workout of the week for the Big Red, as the team gets set to enjoy two days off.

“We had a good day today, good tempo,” Head Coach Bo Pelini said. “We got a little bit more of Colorado introduced. We’ve had a good week of practice.”

The bye week has allowed the Nebraska coaching staff to work ahead on their preparations for the Buffaloes, who enter next Friday’s contest with a 5-6 record and 2-5 league mark.

“I like where we are,” Pelini said. “I feel like we’re ahead of things as a staff on the game plan. I think we’re in good shape.”

While the players take Friday and Saturday off, Pelini said he, Shawn Watson and Mike Ekeler will hit the recruiting trail Friday.

“I think we’ve had good reception from people,” Pelini said. “We’ve identified a lot of guys, even some new guys over the last couple of days. We should have a decent group coming in for the Colorado game. I like where our recruiting is right now. I think we’re in pretty good shape.”

The Huskers will hit the practice field again on Sunday, as they begin full-scale preparations for the Friday, Nov. 28 game against Colorado. The Huskers and Buffaloes kick off at 2:30 p.m. on ABC.
