LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Nebraska volleyball player Jordan Larson says she and her teammates must forget about all the individual awards they won this week and concentrate on the Cornhuskers' goal of playing for the national championship.

The Huskers play Liberty in a first-round NCAA tournament match in Lincoln on Friday night.

Larson said Tuesday the Huskers learned a hard lesson last year through losing in regionals. She says that 2007 team played too much as individuals rather than as a cohesive group.

Larson was named the Big 12's player of the year, and four of her teammates also won conference honors. John Cook won coach of the year.

Cook says last year's tournament reinforced the sports adage that it isn't always the most talented team that wins.
