Karina Kling is a reporter and fill-in anchor for KOLN/KGIN. She joined 10/11 as a Grand Island reporter in October 2005, before moving to Lincoln in May, 2006. Karina earned her Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School. She spent her last semester in school interning in Washington, D.C. as the D.C. correspondent for KMID-TV in Midland, TX. Prior to that, Karina interned with WSTM-TV in Syracuse, NY.
A Midwest native, Karina grew up in Sterling, Kansas and graduated from Hastings College in Nebraska. She earned a double major in Media Production and Vocal Music Performance. When she’s not reporting, she likes singing and playing piano or guitar. She also enjoys musical theatre, running, tennis, traveling, and most of all—trying to keep up with her beloved family and friends.
Karina says she knew reporting was for her because it allows her to learn something new every day.
