In January 2004, Serese Cole joined KOLN/KGIN’s 5, 6, and 10 p.m. news team after anchoring the morning and noon show since 2001.
Serese came to KOLN/KGIN-TV from WDAF-TV, a Fox Affiliate in Kansas City, where she was an investigative reporter. Prior to WDAF-TV, she worked as the crime and courts reporter for WECT-TV in Wilmington, North Carolina. During her employment at WECT-TV, Serese was voted “Rookie of the Year” by the North Carolina Associated Press.
Serese was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated, with honors, from Florida A & M University, and earned a Bachelors of Science in Journalism. Serese enjoys exercising and reading in her spare time. She also serves as a board member for Lighthouse, an after school program for kids. Serese is married. She and her husband Todd have a son, Tyler, who was born in September of 2006.
