The Dusel family nominated Germaine Kruger of Norfolk, Neb. for the Sunshine Award for helping her sister as she battled leukemia. Kruger drove her sister to appointments, sat with her in the doctor's office, cooked meals and held her hand. She also supported the rest of the family during the difficult procedures and hospitalizations.
